Arrive at the boat after work determined to get the tank emptied before I decide what to do about my obviously unreliable waste
removal system. After dismantling the pump again (euch #5), I cut off a short length of pipe and
feed it into my previously redundant cassette loo tank. Pump on, and that seems to fill with little
trouble. Seal everything up and cart it round to the sanny station to empty it (euch #6). This will
be hard work, but at least it appears to be effective. On second attempt, I think I'm a bit slow
getting out of the boat, and despite there only being about 3' of pipe to cope with, its kinking has
blown the pump again. That's decided me. I'm taking the pump out and just putting in a straight
through pipe. I'd liked the idea and versatility of a self pump-out arrangement, but it's clearly
not working. At least the expenditure on the pump is long enough ago to not make me wince too much.
Disheartened, I pack up and head home.
